our big story is the bay bridge toll plaza. last night, a big rate crashed into a tollbooth, completely destroyed it which has led to a lane 13 being shut down as we bring you the live bridge from the -- live view from the bay bridge toll plaza. we are down the extra lane and metering lights came on. it does look like the lane closure is impacting the kimye. i want to get right to amy hollyfield who is back live for us and has a different view of the traffic. amy: we do have some congestion to show you. it is going to be a bit deceiving for drivers because you don't see wreckage. you don't see debris from an accident. but the impact is still here and that is because the lane is still closed. they have cleared out the area but the lane is closed, the tollbooth is gone. here's what emergency response teams had to clear out. a big rig had crashed into a tollbooth around 9:30 last night. the impact for the tollbooth right off of its foundation. it landed in a lane of traffic and then a car crashed into the debris. no one was hurt.

there is a tunnel that goes underneath the bay bridge toll plaza. it was recently posted on tiktok and that video now has nearly 300,000 views. >> did you know there is a pedestrian walkway under the bay bridge toll plaza? there it is. it is pretty subtle and not very welcoming. >> this video shows the tunnel and the staircase that leads to the tollbooths and it even goes up one of the staircases and then you would end up in the freeway. he said he found this passageway by exploring open street maps online. >> i thought no way there is a tunnel here and i have gone by here thousand times and there is nothing noticeable here. but then i went to check it out and sure enough, there is a staircase i saw. the best thing to do is get on a bike and bike around and it is really easy if you see anything interesting to stop and hop off and go off trail. >> it is now a not so secret pedestrian walkway underneath the bay bridge toll plaza and he said they are all over the bay area and he is considering showing more of them on tiktok of course in the very near f

look at another perspective of the bay bridge metering lights are on. you have the busy ride over into the city. speaking of busy, 880 right at paseo grande, we're starting to track a few brake lights also. things are crowded on the southbound side, speaking of 880 southbound, right around high street we've got reports of a vehicle fire causing a bit of a backup and some distraction for commuters headed through there. here is a live look at the nimitz freeway around the coliseum. keep a close eye to see if it causes backup and a closure is still in effect, this has been shut down all morning long. if you are commuting out of half moon bay or along the coast this morning, 92 both directions just east of highway 1 is completely shut down for a downed power line, so highway 1 in pacifica will be your alternate. you can go southbound highway 1 to 84, if you're trying to get over towards 280, you can cut across it that way. also still quite busy westbound 80 at cherry glenn road, the left lane is blocked, injuries in this accident. speeds are down to about 1
