so carnevale great opportunity to head outdoors. it will be a lot cooler, a lot more mild no matter where you live in the bay. we're dealing with so much heat the national weather service issued a heat advisory. is that a shocker, no. solano county is dealing with a red flag warning today. this expires tomorrow, it got extended until wednesday at 11:00 a.m. due to low relative humidity, with that in mind let's highlight that, we're expecting relative humidity this morning and into the afternoon to drop to around 9% actually on average, vacaville down to 18%, vallejo 14% so a very dry afternoon setup for us. on the bright side we have a decent recovery process in the overnight hours. so with that in mind, a quick look at daytime highs, santa clara valley getting up into the 90s. we're seeing triple digits as we head off into the east from fairfield into brentwood, upper 90s in the walnut creek area. if you want to take the dogs out, wait until the late evening hours or do it this morning. it will be a hot afternoon. mill valley up to

carnevale is around the corner and we'll have your carnevale forecast in a bit. upper 50s near concord and oakland currently. fog in certain areas, we'll highlight that in a bit. look at the highs. we started off with well-above average temperatures this week, so much so that we actually broke records. it's a different setup as we wake up this morning and head into this afternoon, kind of a copy and paste of ed yesterday's forecast. as we extend into the weekend we're seeing 60s along the bay, 50s for our coast, a beautiful, calm setup. we'll talk about winds and what you can expect into the weekend in a bit. gianna, how are things out there? >> good morning, it is friday. we're so excited about that. look at the roadways, the bay bridge quiet and that is just for now. it is a getaway friday, people getting ready to hit the roadways for the three-day weekend so if that's the case give yourself extra time later on today. conditions on the bay bridge, the golden gate bridge busy as well and right now everything is quiet and looks good. we'll talk about the getaway

catch her live coverage of the carnevale parade sunday at 10:00 a.m. on "cbs news bay area." >> i love that story, g., love to hear her speak and her poetry and words and a beautiful dress as well. >>> let's check on the forecast now jessica. >> let's take a quick look at current temperatures. it is an average start to our day, upper 50s in santa rosa, low 60s in oakland as well as san francisco. we're still warming up as we extend into this afternoon as the rest of that ridge continues to build its way into the pacific northwest, as well as the whole california coast for that matter. right behind that is this trough of cooler air pushing in from the gulf of alaska changing the weather for us. notice how the winds push from the southwest, that's the big reason why we're seeing that marine layer start to trickle its way into n as we head into this afternoon. high clouds as we wake up this morning continuing to push in from offshore. the coastal fog will bleed in as well. keep an eye out for that. it will change our forecast as we head into the next coup

carnevale san francisco returns this weekend and kpix is a proud sponsor of the parade and festival, that was canceled during the pandemic. organizers shifted gears and took on a new migs mission. >> kpix 5 sharon chin shows us how they have a program still operating today. >> reporter: alberto perez. >> apples. >> reporter: -- recalls unloading huge boxes and bags of food for needy families at the star of the pandemic. >> when the pandemic first started it was scary. our community was impacted by it. >> reporter: thousands of people lined up for free groceries at the mission food hub every week. >> bags of bean, rice. >> reporter: alberto wasn't just a volunteer. >> we'd throw in a box. >> reporter: his family was hurting, too. >> my mom lost her job at the pandemic. it was very hard for my family to provide. >> reporter: in fact, five adults in his household of seven lost their jobs. so after his volunteer shift, the 19-year-old would take home fresh fruit and vegetables to feed them and their neighbors. >> coming to the food hub was like medicine, where a community can come togeth

tomorrow with carnevale, let's get specific forecasts on this. if your plan is to go, it'll be really nice weather out there on sunday. more sunshine than anything else. the mission is always good that way in terms of staying sunnier than the west half of the city. this is a great time of year, actually, for carnival. if you want to escape the gray, mission is a good play to go. if you're inland, you won't have the gray. it'll be relatively typical for this type of year temperature wise. mid 60s. that's the top line for san francisco. we just looked at that. now look at san jose. it'll be mid 70s over the weekend. warm up into the mid 80s as we get to the middle part of next week. we see the same story play out for our micro climates. it is subtly warmer in the middle part of the week. 90 for east bay valleys. it is one day, thankfully. we don't stay there long. we'll cool back down again, mid 70s by time we get to the end of this next coming week. devin? >> i notice that the fog was pretty heavy. there was some roads where it almost looked like
