roe v. wade has not yet been overturned. abortion remains a legal right across the country, theoretically. the week on monday night, a draft supreme court opinion would overturn roe v. wade offered an opinion and the confusion that will come if it gets rid of an overwhelming right that has shaped and guided american life for 50 years. this is not the courts final opinion. we will have to wait several weeks to find out the courts actual ruling. it is a outcome that could be anticipated. if however, roe is overturned as expected, 26 states as you can see on your screen is poised to ban abortion. this is not mean that the 26 states will have the same set of laws governing how residents can or cannot access abortion, instead, there will be a confusing patchwork of different bans and restrictions that will change from state to state. each of these 26 states already have their own set of laws in the books. there are many, and this is the reason for that. take a look at the graphs of the antiabortion laws that have gone into place
