we're outside and 11 park in santa clara county. it's a really popular spot for hang gliding and paragliding. and just 20. minutes ago, we drove about a couple miles away from this park entrance to one of the hang gliding launch sites. there we saw a man who was getting ready with some of his hang gliding equipment to go out this morning. he didn't want to talk about the tragic crash that happened yesterday, but said only that the person who died was an experience hang glider. this happened around noon yesterday at this park, santa clara county medical examiner's office is not yet releasing the names of the people involved, but man and woman around noon yesterday were strapped together for a tandem hang gliding flight . they were at one of the highest launch sites at this park. it's about 1700 ft up. they took off something went wrong and they crashed. the man died in milpitas. firefighters had to airlift the woman to the hospital. now, a short time ago, i spoke with a woman who used to hang glide and lives in this area, she says. i
