. >> charles: so brian kemp beat stacy abrams by two percentage points. if there's any lingering animosity after tuesday and president trump and his voters do not show up, how likely is it that he could beat stacey abrams again? >> i think the indication from what we're seeing in the polls is that georgia voters, specifically georgia republicans are more confident in brian kemp's ability to beat stacey abrams than in davey purdue's. that's what's being reflected in the polls here. georgia republicans seem to be rejecting trump's attempt to make this about the 2020 election. they're looking forward, looking at the abram's threat and they want the best candidate that will prevent that from happening. >> charles: but would it be critical to get at least -- if david purdue to say okay, because it feels like in pennsylvania, they'll galvanize the events you'll winner. how important is that for for governor just having won by two percentage points? doesn't seem like a lot of room to spare. >> absolutely. you're so right. it's very important. we saw what happene

abrams. jeff zeleny joining us live from atlanta this morning. it was quite showing in georgia yesterday. what should we really be taking away from this moving? >> it showed, above all, there are limits to the grievance expressed for more than a year by former president donald trump. republican voters clearly sent a message here in georgia yesterday up and down the ballot that they are looking forward, they are looking ahead to the next elections. both in november and perhaps beyond that. they are not looking backward at the 2020 election. you saw that in the governor's race. some 52%. or 52 points. that is what governor brian kemp defeated former senator david purdue by, who, of course, was drawn into this race entirely the former president, entirely to try and avenge the big lie from 2020. but take a listen to governor kemp last night. he didn't mention trump, but he talked about the noise in the primary. >> even in the middle of a tough primary, conservatives across our state didn't listen
