some of the sincerity been covered by my friend senator cornyn. first let me talk about the provisions in this bill that change our nation firearm laws. first we are going to invest in the development of crisis intervention orders. were to get money w out to stats that they will be able to use to implement what are commonly called red flag laws that allow local authorities and courts to take weapons and firearms temporarily away from individuals who are threatening to hurt themselves or others. we just saw connecticut's red fog bobby used just in the last month or so to take weapons away from a young man who was making threats to shoot up schools, potentially saving dozens of lies. under this bill every state will be able to use significant new federal dollars to be able to expand their programs to try to stop dangerous people, people contemplating mass murder or suicide from being able to have access to the weapons that allow them to perpetrate that crime. senator cornyn said we will also make those dollars eligible for a narrow range of other co

i communicate with senator cornyn regularly. even before this the border crisis and other things happening in my district. we traveled to taiwan and india together. we have done a lot of different things together. i lean on senator cornyn and his team produce an absolute statesman and he works hard as a very serious legislature. we had a really good discussion on that. many people are eager to see the built text and get it going. there is a lot of optimism as well. optimism on all sides peltierery yodistrict, you grow up with firearms. it is part of the culture. and i grew up with firearms or my grandfather taught me how to handle agh weapon. i wase professionally trained when i joined the military at 18 years old but there's alsory a segment i don't want anyone to take my guns away but i want us to do something but it's up to you to determine what that something is. now's a time forfo us to come to an agreement and move the ball forward. at the center needs to beat mental health and school security of many to go from there. >>
