peter: i don't think that itself will change the outlook. it is expected that they will change -- raise rates and guide the runoff from qe. the question is what is going to happen to interest rates over a period of time and what guidance we get out of them. do we get back to back rate rises through june of next year? the risks are probably on the upside but bear in mind that is still a negative level of real rates at a time when nominal gdp is reasonably strong. and valuations have come down along daily -- a long way. i would argue that is reasonably attractive for people taking a 12 month view. we expect much happiness in the near term, but there is value in the european market. francine: good morning. where do you see that value and also good to see some kind of earnings recession even if the economy in europe does not go through it. peter: i think it is possible. we're looking at low single-digit earnings growth. our numbers are below consensus. i think general numbers will come down and it would not take much to get negative earnings. i
