the pleasanton fire is burning in the pleasanton ridge. this camera showing us the smoke cal fire has now named this fire. they're calling it the canyon fire. it's a large vegetation fire burning on the pleasanton ridge foothill road between bernal avenue in castle would drive is closed right now to traffic and this fire in pleasanton is getting additional resources. we've learned that the alameda county fire department calfire fremont and oakland fire departments are all on the scene right now trying to get this situation under control. people who live in golden eagle have been told to evacuate right now. and here is that evacuation map, the red area. that's golden eagle. you need to leave right now. yellow areas indicate evacuation warning to should be ready to go at a moment's notice. but against the people who are in golden eagle in that section of pleasanton need to evacuate because of this large brush fire. we don't have any details right now. as far as how big this fire is or on. if there's any containment, we're working to get thos

let's take it over to pleasanton. you can see the pleasanton ridge right here. we did get some positive news from firefighters saying they are starting to slow the forward progress. the wind out of the west. gusts up to 20 miles-per-hour. evacuations are still in effect from around foothill road down to castlewood country club. that's because the way the wind is blowing. we could see embers moving downhill and they want to be extra cautious. i don't see anyone stronger than 20 miles-per-hour as we had through the next 24 hours. let's take it over to the port costa fire. the weather helping firefighters. you can see out the close the fire was to port costa. it was pushing the flames and embers out towards the open water. evacuations have been lifted. your asked to stay on alert. we'll see warm temperatures the next couple of hours in the upper '80s to about 90 degrees. we are tracking a lot on the map. firefighters will have to watch those hotspots on each and every fire. everybody near those, if you get the all clear, watch those alerts. >> that comes off a fire

another look at the pleasanton fire from chopper 5. our meteorologist is in pleasanton for us. he has more on the conditions out there. >> we are here at the fairgrounds, which is happenstance. we were coming here to talk about the hot weather and do some fun fair stuff. as we were coming down, the fire was getting started. that's the canyon fire burning above pleasanton producing smoke that was blowing towards the fairgrounds. we had fire on scene keeping an eye on the smoke plume in case they needed to make adjustments to the fair plans. but the winds shifted. the winds were out of the south and southwest. they shifted to the northwest pushing smoke in a different direction. good news from immediately where we are standing t. pushes it away. let's pan up to the ridge line here and take a look at what it looks from ground level. this is a summertime in california thing. a bunch of people in the background having fun while on the ridge above us, that fire is continuing to put out smoke. not nearly as much as it was when we initially were here at the fairgrounds between 2:00 and

it's off of tesla road and coral hollow road that's in between pleasanton and tracy. off of 5.80, fire says it was caused by a vehicle which caught fire after crashing into a tree. crews will remain on the scene of this fire overnight and into tomorrow. meantime, in solano county, firefighters are making progress on a brush fire in the area of one of this to lane and tim road. this is just north of vacaville. the blaze burns, 26 acres. it is 80% contained at last check. that's according to cal fire. the fire officials say that fire is now under control. crews, though, will be in the area for the next few hours working putting out hot spots that might pop up in benicia forward. progress has been stopped on a brush fire that broke out this afternoon in do that's near the valero oil refinery. the fire burned about 10 acres. crews will remain on the scene for that for the next couple of hours to make sure that as well does not spark up again. of course, we'll continue to monitor all of these fires and bring you the latest as they come in grant. vicki, back to you. thank c
