"the times" says a number of hutchinson's key assertion, including the idea that trump knew his supporters were armed and wanted to lead them to the capital, were new to investigators. quote, in conversations at the department the day after ms. hutchinson's appearance, some of which included deputy attorney general lisa monaco, officials talked about the pressure that the testimony created to scrutinize mr. trump's potential criminal liability and whether he intended to break the law. ms. hutchinson's disclosure seemed to have opened a path to broaching the most sensitive topic of all, mr. trump's own actions ahead of the attack

i'm chris jansing in for katy tur. as we come on the air, the federal reserve has just spoken. i am told they are raising interest rates three-quarters of a point as the fed hopes to cool off the economy, slow down growth and in turn control inflation. that change can't come fast enough. inflation is at yet another record high, 9.1%, but this key question remains. will it help americans who are clearly hurting? the average cost of groceries has skyrocketed. a dozen eggs, $1.07 more expensive than last year. milk is now $4.15 a gallon, a nearly 60% increase from this time last year and ground beef $5 a pound compared to just $4.56 compared to 2021. gas is now 70 cents cheaper per gallon compared to a record high last month, but for a lot of folks, that is small consolation in the larger picture. we have a lot to talk about and a great panel to talk about it. host of the 11th hour on msnbc and senior business analyst stephanie ruhle, robert herzog and host of the pod cast "so money." stephanie, three quarters of a point? how immediate could the impact be? what are we going to see

i'm i i'm chris jansing in for katy tur. we are live in highland park, illinois. we are just down the street where a gunman took the lives of six people at the fourth of july parade. there is a lot of activity here. you can still see the police tape. just about 90 minutes ago, we got a lot of information about the suspect, a 21-year-old who lived just a few minutes from here. police now say he had been planning yesterday's attack for weeks before climbing on to a roof at the start of the parade and firing into a crowd. police say their investigation shows he ultimately fired more than 70 rounds and just about an hour ago, we also learned this, that during the attack, he was dressed in womens clothing in an attempt to escape the scene undetected. it worked for about eight hours before he was arrested driving his mother's car, another rifle found inside the vehicle. >> so he was in possession of the firearm the day of, the rifle. he was in possession of another rifle in his vehicle when he was pulled over by police. he also had other firearms that were recovered fro
