jerry nadler has been in congress for almost 30 years. carolyn maloney has been in congress for almost 30 years. i think both would like to be seen as the progressive in the race. i think the reality is if you look closely at the records, you will see jerry nadler is someone who really does have a long track record of championing progressive's policies, building a progressive base in new york city. carolyn maloney does not really have that. she voted against the iran deal and has kind of a checkered record on some of these progressive priorities. most importantly, for this race, nadler is the chair of the house judiciary committee and has done really excellent work on antitrust legislation and taking on big tech and afforded some of these policies that are high priority for the party this moment. carolyn maloney as they had of the house oversight committee, which has been notoriously weak in committee in congress. one tasked with obtaining president trump's tax returns. that committee is not very effective. if you're comparing the two of

they're both committee chairs and jerry nadler with a big win in new york. there's one other race here in new york that we're following. it's not been called yet. this is congressional district 10, and it looks like dan goldman is going to pull it out although it's very tight with state assembly woman gnu. this is 95%. it looks like he's going to pull it out we'll see let's look at a couple of other things. first of all, to florida where we now have in the situation of the governor's race a democratic opponent to ron desantis in florida, that is charlie crist, congressman charlie crist. democrat, however also former republican governor charlie crist. he wins over the florida agriculture commissioner nikki fried. and now sets up this charlie crist versus ron desantis and that will be a battle. ron desantis has a big war chest, a ton of money down there obviously and well positioned. let's look at the senate. now there is an opponent val demings up against marco rubio the incumbent republican senator there. that is seen as perhaps a closer race one that people

we're talking about carolyn maloney and jerry nadler. two liberal lions of new york politics. they represented different districts for the last 30 years in congress. but due to redistricting, they were put into the same district, and now they're battling against each other. not how either one of them envisioned their career would end, but only one can come out on top. there's also a third candidate, suraj patel, choo is making a bit of a generational argument. jerry nadler scored two key endorsements here, "the new york times," and chuck schumer, the senate majority leader. we'll see if those heavyweight endorsements help him over the finish line. as you said, it's been getting nasty. our colleague reported that maloney has been telling confidantes that nadler's quote, half dead, and she's citing a "new york post" editorial calling him senile. he denies those charges. it is indeed nasty. in new york's tenth congressional district, we're seeing a bit of an idealogical divide. mondaire jones is a sitting congressman from the westchester suburbs but he did not have a place to run
