alright, pam. time is 608, the city of oakland now has to give at least a week's notice before they shut down. homeless encampment city council agreed to a settlement in 2018 lawsuit filed by people experiencing homelessness who sued after the camp they were living in was shut down and many of their belongings were destroyed. as part of this agreement, the city has to provide that extended notice as well as take better care of the belongings of people. the city of oakland says they will also avoid clearing camps when it's raining or in extreme weather. the state is launching a review of san francisco's housing development approval practices. a new report shows it takes more than 2.5 years from the time developers submit their project plans to get approval to when they receive all the permits they need. the state average is just slightly more than a year. the long delay can force developers to cancel the projects because construction and material costs may have risen in that time. san francisco alre

thanks, pam. we do have an update on the future of san francisco's laguna honda hospital and rehab center. it had been scheduled to close on september 13th, but that timeline has been extended two months through mid november. the facility had lost its federal certification to receive medicare and medicaid payments after failing several inspections now that would force the hospital. to move its 600 patients out and fix the problems before applying for re certification. nine people who had already been transferred to other facilities died shortly after they were moved. time is 4 37 happening today. santa clara county supervisors due to vote on funding to mental health programs for children of the $2.5 million in funding will come from the state. it's designed to expand mobile crisis services in the south bay, as well as mental health wellness centers and schools. supporters say these centers are really needed because of the isolation , the stress and the fear caused by covid over the past 2.5 years
