not a president of red america, or blue america. but of all america. now, i believe it is my duty to level with you, to tell the truth, no matter how difficult, no matter how painful. but here, in my view, is what is true. they do not respect the constitution. they do not believe in the rule of law. they do not recognize the will of the people. they refused to accept the results of a free election, and are working, right now, as i speak, and state, after state but inciting elections in america, two pointers, and cronies, and empower election designers, and undermine democracy itself. maga forces are determined to take this country backwards. backwards, to an america, and there is no right to choose, no right to privacy. no right to contraception. no right to marry who you love. they promote authoritarian laser and then as they fanned the flames of political violence, as a threat to our personal rights, is in pursuit of justice, and there is a very soul of this country. it is an assault on january 6th, brutally attacking law enforcement. not as insurrec

i would say abortion is not banned in america, it's left up to elected officials in america to define the issue. you have states have the ability to do it at the state level and we have the ability in washington to speak on this issue if we choose. i have chosen to speak. i have chosen to craft let's legislation that i think is eminently reasonable in the eyes of the world and i hope the american people that 15 weeks pretty much strong majority of americans believe abortion should be the exception, not the rule. now, my bill follows my democratic colleague's attempt to define abortion at the federal level. right after the repeal of vow v wade, my democratic colleagues introduced legislation in washington to create a national standard. they have every right to do so. so they chose to do that. here's what they chose. the bill allows abortion on demand like north korea, iran and a few others. about 10% of americans support abortion -- late term abortion like the democratic bill so my legislation, our legislation is a counter to their proposal. i hope we get to debate on it and vote on it

this idea that america's bad. this idea that america is racist, let me tell you, my parents came here from india with $8 in their pocket, the same story that so many of you have. they worked hard. they put in all of the effort so that their children could have a better life. and their daughter became the first minority governor in america. in -- in the united states of america that was happening. all across america. the most anemic job performance since uber herbert -- herbert hoover. that is a fact. we acted quickly and passed the american rescue plan. [applause] every single republican voted for it. nearly 10 million more jobs have been created since i've been president. the highest number of jobs of any president in the united states. [applause] we have 3.7% unemployment rate. a record number of new small businesses created. over 668,000 new manufacturing jobs. [applause] the american rescue plan helped police officers, firefighters and first responders on the job. provided the money to get the schools open and to the big reason we have been able to vaccinate over 220 million americans.
