kevin: it's complicated. we're starting an air bridge and a -- governor desantis: for those of you familiar, not familiar with southwest florida, sanibel island are connected to the main land by a causeway. that was severed by the storm in a couple different places. so the only way to access that is by sea or by air. so what happened from the wee hours of the morning when the storm passed was bringing in blackhawk helicopters, chinook helicopters, finding people that wanted to be rescued and then bringing them safely back to the main land. what they are also finding as they've gone in those areas is a lot of the residents are stabilized. they rode out the storm. probably a very harrowing experience. but some of them have really nice homes and can do that. so what they're finding out is a lot want to stay put on the island and thank the first responders for being there. obviously anyone in need of that they are willing to do that and bring back. i would say the early hours a lot of people just want to get off

joining us is kevin crowley along with cam price kevin, i want to start with you. on any regular day, you have your plate full. it's hard to ignore all the moving parts tied to europe. what would you say about where we are in the energy story right now? kevin: europe has been increasing exponentially on the prices for natural gas. we are expecting government intervention to come at some point and it seems like now is that point. the u.k. today announced 130 billion pounds worth of consumer protection, to freeze energy prices, which is a huge intervention. there's another further 40 lien pounds worth of production for small businesses and we are expecting other european countries to follow later this week. this is where the pedal really hits the road here, where government really has to come help out consumers and businesses because this is a crisis that can send the euro into recession and has the potential to send the continent into a depression. today, we are seeing government say we are not going to stand for that and throwing the balance sheets hind this crisis

and then we, fema was able to provide the army corps of engineers and they were on the ground after kevin called them i think at like 3:00 in the morning, and they were on the ground in southwest florida until yesterday in the afternoon and they've been work to go assess that situation and we also have florida national guard to help the army corps of engineers if they need it and that will be something to be very, very critical to be able to get that back and it may require more of a rebuild. maybe it will require more short-term remediation and that's clearly a top priority and we're thankful that fema pan the army corps are there helping out. we have, obviously, there is a lot of folks in affected areas that evacuated. some did shelter in place as of last night. we've contacted over 20,000 floridians that filled out a shelter in place survey on florida disaster.org and over 10,000 have responded and all 10,000 say they were safe and sent the first alert last night and are expecting more responses this morning. cell phone connectivity, sometimes it's easier to get out a text message, so,
