it comes to us from the museum of te papa in new zealand. and it's a really wonderful, immersive, beautiful, visual exhibit that showcases the amazing adaptations of bugs. bugs is kind of a catch-all term for what we call arthropods, but all of our six-legged, eight-legged that are often very misunderstood in the natural world. and so "bugs" reminds us of the incredible adaptations or amazing traits that bugs bring to the natural world and why it's important for us to think about their role in regenerating the planet and their importance in the ecosystem. when you walk into the space, you see these huge chambers, and it really brings you face-to-face with much larger-than-life-size models of bugs. so it was a way to get visitors really up close and personal. it's very visually stunning. the museum of te papa in new zealand worked with weta workshop, which is a creative studio that worked on "the lord of the rings" set design. so they also bring in a flair for the theatrical. they're dramatic, really bringing you right into the world of bugs
