and next time it might be a uc berkeley student, berkeley is a great and diverse city with one of the world's premier universities. we should not permit a reputation for crime ridden streets to taint this wonderful community and university. the students are still walking to class where blood stains are on the sidewalk. what immediate action is being done. when are you increasing? officers are you collaborating with you? c p. d do you plan to patrol around the dorm areas? city council members said. the parents are rightfully concerned. they say they are supporting the police department and fully funding it so they can be fully staffed. but the police department staffing is at a historic low, and that's a trend we're seeing across the country . so although the police chief says they are putting additional patrols in this area around telegraph there just aren't a lot of officers available to be out on the streets. they are actively trying to recruit more officers. they're also still actively looking for that show. shooter or shooters involved in that shooting early saturday morning. now

i put it that way because, berkeley gets a bad reputation. some of it is deserved but it's such a big place there's more intellectual diversity at berkeley and are in a lot small private liberal arts colleges. the problem is worse at those places like i will pick on oberland much in the news right now. i do like university life. it's also good for people to hang around with people who have different views. i enjoy the challenge of sitting around in a room being the only conservative in the room at a seminar or i attend a lot of workshops at berkeley in a political science department. it's not that i disagree violently with what's being done but i don't often raise my head that people said the glut of a challenge from the right. so i do enjoy that kind of life. like a set of a disposition for it i think. i tend to be a people person. i tend to like everybody even if they have different views from me. >> host: do you see yourself staying at uc berkeley traffic possibly. oh, boy. the whole covid your was a disaster because no classes met in pers

school district is going to have counseling services in berkeley high school this week. well, a woman is now dead after a hit and run this happen in walnut creek. it happened around 7 saturday night. officials say that woman was struck by a driver at the intersection of north california boulevard and civic dry officers had to close off the area for several hours. no arrests have been made. walnut creek police are asking for help identifying the driver. and the north bay. one person is dead after being hit by a capitol corridor train while inside of a truck that they were driving. the crash happened on the side of 6.80, near fairfield soon city yesterday afternoon. chp says the victim was backing up from a home on a dirt road when they were hit by the train. officers also say the truck was broken in half by the train's impact the train involved in the crash is now running again. well, in some developing news, the family of missing oakley woman. alexis gabe's hoping that remains found in pioneer belong to the 24 year-old woman. the remains are found in a remote area of ahm
