so, charlie, we know there are two ways of combating inflation. you have the fed, they raise interest rates. we're seeing that. that, obviously, keeps the dollar strong, but it also hurts the world. so the president is correct when he says he worries for the world, because we are doing actions that will be hurting other poorer countries, but you can also look to congress because they can do some things to help with inflation. specifically, they can raise taxes and/or cut spending. >> right. >> so we mow the democrats are really -- can we know the democrats are really good at raising taxes. do you think this is how we're going to be combating it? >> i think we've seen how they're combating it, spending lots of money which nobody has ever said is going to tame inflation. in fact, it makes it far worse. but as a political thing here, i have to stay that i think joe biden may be the worst politician that has ever breathed air or at least since the invention of television. if you're going to be flippant about people buying their medicine, paying their

i just -- i remember too vividly what charlie crist was like as governor. and i am living right now the culture war nightmare that ron desantis has brought on in florida. so it's a very hard choice but it's the choice that floridians have to make. it's one or the other. and i think it's important for people to know that it's okay to vote for the lesser of the two evils, it's okay to cross party lines, it's okay to split your vote. what did i see yesterday? i saw a very heated debate. i thought both of them did well. i actually had forgotten how charlie crist was as a debater. and he was better than i expected. as far as that question of whether ron desantis is going to run in 2024, i don't know that that changes anything. i think it's kind of baked in the cake in florida. basically, if you live in florida and are an elected official and drink the water you think you can be president. jeb bush, rick scott, marco rubio, donald trump, ron desantis. so i don't think it's something that sways -- that influences the way people vote. >> i was thinking about this.

charlie: that's a good question. what we know is it has been a terrible, no good, very bad couple of months for credit suisse with their share price down so far. we are expecting a very significant announcement later this month. as you say, part of the strategy is potentially to say instead of issue new equity for what could be potentially a very expensive restructuring, this strategy is potentially selling off some of the assets in the investment banking china cabinet. this could be in line with that strategy and it could be good business. what the price will be am not sure, but we know there are willing buyers. we've been talking about this business unit, there was interest expressed last month by a number of investors. this could potentially get a good price. dani: as we have been mentioning, we have that restructuring, it is due on october 27. we have some hints of what will happen, we have had debt buybacks. what do we know about the contours of what this will look like on october 27? charlie: it is really diffi

charlie, i'll start with you. your colleagues reporting on the skepticism about trump returning documents. what could this signal about how the feds view this case right now? >> well there have been some hints and insinuations of the justice department's filings in the mar-a-lago documents case which is obviously getting very complicated with appeals all the way to the supreme court now. there are hints in there that they are not sure they have everything. one of the arguments for why they need to have access to the documents now and a special master process interfering is they think that the documents they do have an hand could offer clues as to whether there is anything else out there. we have seen these insinuations already in various documents that have come out and so the repeat pouring by my colleagues today shows that there is something behind that. it's not just strategic to try to increase the chances of there being looked at favorably by these appeals courts. they really do think there is something missi
