chris swecker and danny cullson. danny, let's start with you. i want to get from you what you wanted to hear, what you heard. someone -- i'm hearing acronyms that i never heard before. what did you take away from this? >> yeah, they need more tips and leads. they need something to break this case. what they have is a lot of forensic evidence. they have done a lot of interviews. this idea of targeted -- that somebody was specifically targeted in a personal way just isn't panning out right now. i don't see that developing through the 100-plus interviews that they have done. that would be very hard to hide if you had that motivation and that kind of animosity. somebody would have picked up on it. this didn't just happen. there's a lead up to it if it's that personal. >> charles: chris, let me jump in. are you suggesting that they came up with a theory initially and they're sticking with it even though it may not be the right theory? >> yeah, clearly they came up with a theory. i don't know if they're sticking with it now. targeted can mean a lot of

assistant director chris swecker. this is a classic homicide case in the fact that the investigators are doing what they do best, gathering all their information without giving away too much obviously. they have much more information than they're giving to the public and asking the public to remain patient. let's talk about some of the latest they've come up with. victim's father has the moscow police believe that only one of the students killed was an actual target. originally police said it was a targeted attack and that it was not random. now we're hearing only one of the students was a target. that means that they know much more about this suspect or suspects than they are giving off. what do you make of that? >> well, i think it's the original theme that they came up with early on, that this was a so-called targeted killing. that doesn't tell you all that much. that just tells you as i have said in earlier commentary targeted could mean that a predator saw somebody that night and followed them home or an uber dri

chris swecker the former assistant fbi director said there were red flags okay something have been done to prevent this? >> listen, i'm going to allow the pundits to make that determination. i think one of the best -- worst disservices i could do to those that are investigating this is to put out information out there while they are still trying to get information. i don't think it does for the individuals with the state police and the university police and others that are investigating, i don't think that's very fair right now. i want to be able to just put my arms around the charlottesville community, express my heart felt prayers and condolences for what happened. it's a tragedy. but there's going to be a lot of speculation as well. i just caution everybody. let the professionals do their job. this is why they are there and there is going to be a lot of speculation in the media and we will get to the answers. we promise you we will get to those answers, but it's going to give us the time to get there. >> ainsley: i know these parents want to know why their sons are not coming home. l
