nevada is outstanding and georgia is going to a runoff. this is why nevada is so critical. if indeed catherine cortez masto can close that 862 vote gap, overtake laxalt and win this raise, democrats would have the majority. clark county is the population center, nearly three-quarters of the entire population of the state is in clark county. joe biden won this county by 9 prnts. remember, catherine kor toez m cortez masto is running a bit behind. she needs to overperform. she has to do better than this to overtake adam laxalt. 95% of the vote is out. we think there are about 50 to 55,000 votes overall in the state of nevada. >> that still have to be counted? >> that are still to be reported. we know from clark county officials that we're going to get some 22,000 votes, so a big chunk of that will go away when he get those votes reported. obviously there are some smaller counts in the red rural counts in the state. we're estimating about 94% in a tight swing county. we watched this throughout the course of this week go from a laxalt lead to now a cortez masto lead. washo is e

if they win nevada, that puts them at 50. because vice president kamala harris is a democrat, she would break a tie and that would give democrats before even the runoff in georgia. when you dig in to nevada, this is what we're waiting for next. we are waiting for clark county, the largest county population wise in nevada by far. it's about 73% of the entire population. we are expecting them to release the count from 22,000 votes. now, i want to do some math for you. in clark county in general, it's split about 52% to 45%. 52% for the democrat catherine cortez masto, the incumbent, 45% for adam laxalt. in the vote that's been counted after tuesday in the mail-in vote, it's actually skewed more blue, more in favor of catherine cortez masto. she's been getting 60% or higher of the vote that's been counted the last couple days in clark county. what does that mean? i'm going to do some advanced math for you, which isn't easy for me, but i think it illustrated why everyone is so keen to figure out what's going to happen maybe in th

senate races in both nevada and arizona. a huge twist in nevada. democratic senator catherine cortez masto just made gains and is now within striking distance of republican challenger adam laxalt. and in arizona, mark kelly as a sizable lead right now over the republican challenger blake masters. these are the numbers that drive home why the stakes are so high in nevada and arizona. democrats now hold 48 senate seats. republicans have 49. if democrats can prevail in both those states, they would win control of the senate with a tie-breaking vote of the vice-president kamala harris. now for the ongoing fight of the house of representatives. democrats just scored a new win. they now have 200 seats. republicans have 211 seats. republicans are only 11 short of the 218 needed to win control of the house, but their hopes of winning a huge majority have slipped away. let's go over to john king right now. you're watching all this information. we're getting more information specifically from arizona right now. >> let's show you the statewide numbers in the

what is happening in nevada? take a look here at the senate race in nevada. the republicans lead is just under 16,000 votes. too big populations in the state. there are two major states. where reno is, there are 40,000 outstanding mail ballot in washo county. there is indication from the officials there that some of these may be fair number of these may end up being spoiled ballots. they're not counted. look for fewer than 40,000 to actually be count and released in the end. you do have a significant chunk from there. there is also some reason based on information they released about the percentage of republicans -- republican ballots and democratic ballots that make up this mix. there is some tron think that it may be more of a wash here. so i think for democrats what is really critical in nevada for cortez-masto to make up that is here. in clark thcounty, there was a press conference today where he said they have 50,000 votes that they're processing. yesterday they seemed to indicate -- if you took the numbers they leased yesterday, it indicated that number
