>> steve osunsami, thank you so much. we move to arizona where democratic senator mark kelly leads republican blake masters in the governor race, pitting the trump-endorsed kari lake against the democratic secretary of state, katie hobbs. here's whit johnson from scottsdale. >> reporter: in the battleground state of arizona, two pivotal races with national implications that we're watching closely. in the senate, democrat mark kelly fighting to keep his seat. he's going up against republican blake masters. that race had been neck and neck for a period of time. masters was part of this gop wave of candidates endorsed by donald trump in this state. also among them, republican kari lake, who is running for governor with her election denialism becoming really a central part of her campaign. she's taking on democrat katie hobbs who is the secretary of state and actually made a name for herself by defending the election results of 2020. still so much at stake in these races as the ballots are still being counted. >> thank you so

steve osunsami is in atlanta and, steve, it is going to be quite a month ahead for us. >> reporter: that's right. both campaigns are preparing for an intense month ahead and if democrats fail to win the u.s. senate races in arizona, you can bet a large spotlight from washington will be focussed on georgia. the good news is that it will be over fast. the election takes place on december 6th. but the law requires early elections to start no later than november 28th. that's just a few days after thanksgiving. on herschel walker's side of things, keep an eye out for kemp republicans, moderate republicans to coalesce with the trump republicans behind this candidate. and on the democratic side, their big challenge is getting their voters back out to vote again in a runoff election. historically they've had trouble doing that here. the one giant exception was the presidential election of 2020, where in a runoff election both democrats won. robin? >> steve, a good opportunity to bring out our congressional correspondent rachel scott with more on the senate and house. >> a nail-biter, robin, contro

steve osunsami, thanks. >>> let's go out west now. janai norman is in las vegas, nevada. both the governor's race and senate's race too close to call. >> reporter: yeah, george, one of those late vegas nights but not the fun kind. all the races still too close to call and the candidates were encouraging nevadans to get out and vote up until the last minute. 11 minutes after polls closed here at 7:00 p.m. local time, vulnerable senate candidate catherine cortez masto filed a lawsuit asking a judge to keep eight clark county polling locations open for an additional two hours and cited problems with printers not working that created long waits and delayed openings at locations that were required to be open for 12 hours on election day. that was denied, but her focus on clark county which encompasses las vegas here is because this has been a democratic stronghold that makes up about 70% of the electorate here in nevada. it is a county that cortez masto has to whin to have any chance t holding on to her seat. she had an early lead in the night, but now maga republican and elec

i want to get to steve osunsami. steve, what are you learning there on the ground? >> well, i keep watching these votes as they come in and i've seen the lead switch back and forth between herschel walker and senator warnock. there's no telling what's happening tonight. i think, again, the key counties to watch, are the blue democratic counties surrounding atlanta, that's dekalb, majority black county that i happen to live in, clayton, fulton, douglas, gwinnett, all the counties that surround the metro area, to see if they will give senator warnock enough votes to either win this or make it into a runoff. out here at this event here tonight, they're having a lot of applause as they've seen some of the numbers, everyone is optimistic. as i'm sure herschel walker's camp is optimistic. chris christie said something earlier that i sort of want to underline. he said if herschel walker wins tonight or makes it into the runoff, that it will be the first time that brian kemp has helped him over the finish line. i will absolutely second that. there is a lot of shine that her

let's start in georgia, you just heard from steve osunsami. well, take a look. we are just hours away from polls closing in that state and you have a dead heat between the republican herschel walker and the democratic incumbent, senator raphael warnock. over to pennsylvania, a virtual tie between the republican dr. oz, the democrat, john fetterman. fetterman was ahead for much of this race but in the final stretch and after that critical debate this race has tightened. and we also have our eye on nevada as well. republicans making a clear play for out west. you have a really close race between republican adam laxalt and the democratic incumbent senator catherine cortez masto. there are 35 senate seats in play for tonight, but our eyes will be on those three. you got pennsylvania. you got georgia. all the way out west you have nevada. george? >> rachel, it's hard to see how republicans don't take the house, the question is the margin. >> it is. remember, they only have to net five seats by the end of the night in order to flip the house. we did some homework and

we begin this morning with steve osunsami in georgia. good morning, steve. >> reporter: good morning to you, martha. some of the latest polling has the race between incumbent senator raphael warnock and college football great and republican nominee herschel walker at essentially a tie, and this is despite weeks of bad press for herschel walker, who's essentially been called a hypocrite because of his stance on abortion rights, even though woman after woman has come forward claiming that he either helped them get an abortion or paid for one. there is a libertarian candidate in this race, and in georgia to win on tuesday night, the winner has to get above 50%, and right now, many people are expecting this to possibly go to a runoff, which, frankly, would be four weeks of more misery for georgia voters who are, frankly, tired of all the mudslinging. there has been record voting in this race. about 2.5 million people have voted early, and election officials expect that when the votes are tallied on tuesday night, the total vote will be highe

steve osunsami is in atlanta with the latest on that, good morning, steve. >> reporter: good morning to you, amy. some of the latest polling out this week shows a virtual tie between incumbent senator raphael warnock and republican nominee and college football legend herschel walker and this is despite weeks of bad press for herschel walker who has essentially been called a hypocrite for his stance on opposing abortion rights after woman after woman keeps coming forward claiming that he's not only helped them pay for an abortion, but get an abortion. there is a third candidate in this race, the libertarian candidate which means it's entirely possible that neither candidate gets to 50%. if that happens, there will be a run-off in december. if control of the u.s. senate is decided by a runoff race here in georgia, it will be a busy four weeks of dirty mudslinging for voters who have already seen enough. george? >> we have seen that before. steve, thanks very much. >>> let's get more on this from our congressional correspondent rachel scott. rachel, break down where things stand in the
