elevating georgia and michigan so they're earlier in that schedule, nevada new hampshire go together and then georgia in michigan -- what do you think about this? >> chris, it's too early to offer smart observations. one thing i'd say is there's a long way between that proposed calendar in theory and reality. the republicans right now are not saying they're gonna change their calendar. south carolina's not enough to different primaries. neither is nevada. so there's -- let's say that's the calendar. i think it means if you can't show the ability to get enough african american supports announced the first context, so can just go in iowa and new hampshire and get -- your probably out. then you need to get enough hispanic support in nevada and then you've got those big big states in michigan and georgia. the very expensive, their big states to campaign. in but their battleground states. so the fact that the first grouping of states new hampshire, michigan, georgia, and nevada are all battleground states i certainly like that. >> david plouffe, as, always great to have. you that's all in

what does that mean, new hampshire is gonna have his own primary when it feels like it? >> yes. what so the history of this is the states that struck a truce with parties and the truce is broken at this on the democratic side. and new hampshire's threat has always been we will always go first as the first primary in the nation. they gave this -- to iowa in the caucus. it's in the state law. they have two democratic senators, all three of those right now are saying there is no way or following what the democratic party is going to do. there is no one really saying that that's going to change. so almost certainly what is going to happen is new hampshire is going to be the first major primary that is run in the united states. republicans will compete there and democrats, if they do compete, there will face serious sanction from the democratic party because another thing that's happened here is the democratic party's past polls will make it much more painful than it was in 2008 when michigan and florida tried to step out of line. not only does it take away delegates from the nominat

i just spoke to new hampshire senator jeanne shaheen who repeatedly stressed that new hampshire has a law and that that law says that they have to be the first primary contest. now, president biden, he did not win iowa in the primary, he did not win new hampshire in the primary, he won south carolina so his move to put south carolina at the front of the pack is reflective of how he himself won the democratic presidential primary process. david: that's very interesting. so the fact is that maybe he's setting himself up for a challenge, no, a democrat challenge and he's better set to do that in the south? >> so, all indications are that president biden does plan to run again in 2024, and the members that i've been speaking to have said that they don't think that he would have weighed in so heavily if he wasn't planning again to run in 2024 and the reality at the end of the day is, he's the one on the ballot and he's the one they say is going to have to deal with this primary calendar and if this is the way he thinks is best to win the general election then ultimately they went with his

typically, iowa has the 1st caucus soon after new hampshire has the 1st primary. both of these states are rather small. they are predominantly rural. they're predominantly white in terms of voters after joe biden lost the new hampshire primary in 2020. he started saying to anyone who would listen, that he thought that the primary system should be changed that other states with more diverse populations that are bigger, that are more urban, should come earlier in the process in order to get a better sense from american voters, whom they want to see as their democratic presidential candidate. he made his wishes known to the democratic national committee. and on friday, the panel has decided that south carolina will be the 1st state to hold a primary in 2024. now this is not a process that would, does hold for ever and ever. this is something that bite and says should be revisited after the 2024 election to that. the 2028 primary season can accurately capture the changing of population among american voters. you as far conspiracy theorist, an exchange of sol for bankr
