During the Second World War, the Canadian Army Overseas prepared a looseleaf reference to all the vehicles used by the First Canadian Army in Europe. Many of those vehicles were manufactured in Canada and were part of the Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) truck family. The book was intended for use by supply, maintenance, and operations staff officers, and contained the information needed for the identification, classification and performance appraisal of the vehicles used by the Canadian Army.
