Hey Matt, the air dates I've listed above are the American air dates. The UK air dates were 1964.

Sorry for confusion.

I see, fair enough. I apologise.

Would you mind explaining how it is in the public domain in the UK? http://copyrightservice.co.uk/copyright/p01_uk_copyright_law says that for films ("video footage, films, broadcasts and cable programmes") copyright expires 70 years after the death of the last author, but the copyrights of "broadcasts and cable programmes" expire after 50 years. Doesn't US copyright apply, since IA is based in California?

Hi PIR, I actually took this up with the copyright office in the UK. They said that it doesn't matter where the site is hosted, it's about where the original content was produced - and as it's a UK production, it's public domain here. They also said it's fine to download in other countries for non-commercial use.

I never said I talked to "the BBC office" (Why would I? The Avengers was an ABC/ITV co-production.)

I talked to the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) who confirmed what I said above.

Now, please, stop tarnishing Matt's name and bugger off - you add nothing of value to this site.
