Regarding the film 'Rembrandt' video cellar commented that lack of a valid notice renders registration and renewal invalid. 'Rembrandt' was therefore pd in the US before Gatt and is not eligible for restoration.I mention this because my copy of 'Young and Innocent' has no notice. Another consideration is that one of the four requirements for restoration with gatt is that the movie not enter the pd because the term of protection had simply expired in the home country. 'Young and Innocent' was released in england in '37 or '38. Copyright at that time in england was a flat 50 years, so, in '87 or'88 the home country copyright had expired before gatt came into being, making it ineligible for restoration. Also I didn't find any underlying stuff. anyone else?

Thanks, OB. That's good enough for me. Will get it up tonight or early tomorrow. er, I better change "get it up" to "get it posted."
