One might ask similar questions about any number of "24-bit" Dead items on the Internet Archive whose sound information above 10 or 15 kHz does not exist. Allow me to borrow an apt term from the late, great Tommy Magliozzi of Car Talk fame:
bogusity. At least the Archive recordings are appropriately priced, rather than priced to appropriate.
