My program finds the title even if the search string is spelled "THE CATS PAW". However, if I were doing a manual search in a text file, I would do a regular expression search.

Use "less" (available even under Windows) or a text editor that has a regular expression engine. One has to allow for different ways of punctuating and spacing.

Do a case-insensitive search for "cat.*paw".
That will find all of the following:

THE CAT'S-PAW
cats-paw
cat paw
catching the southpaw

The false matches aren't a problem unless you have a ton of them.
