"Nightmare" is an understatement. I type this reply using an admittedly ancient Internet Explorer 7, and it is hell getting here. In fact, the secure sockets layer (https) is not supported, and the Classic version of the Archive doesn't work at all for me. I'm doing more experimenting and will comment further, but for now, may I suggest, if you're using Internet Explorer, try a *browser* instead? Google Chrome comes to mind (first choice) and Firefox (distant second). Your nightmares won't end, but they'll be more manageable.

To exit Beta from (almost) any Archive page, you then click on that "eb" in your bookmarks bar. reason for modification: change link font color from green to blue

I do use Google Chrome. Please don't ask me to try to do anything with "beta JavaScript links/buttons." I could translate Sanskrit easier! lol

I did manage to download a pdf of a book I wanted the other day, but I miss being able to scan through the downloads from various libraries and I find the book covers, rather than lists, incredibly frustrating and annoying. I wish someone from archive would write me. Thanks for looking into the issues I raised.

Try this is the new format.
Near the top of the Ebooks and Texts page "COLLECTION" screen or tab, there should be a line with the words;
'SORT BY VIEWS TITLE DATE PUBLISHED CREATOR"
To the right of these words are little pictures of jumbled blue squares and some very thin horizontal lines.
If you move the mouse cursor over these little pictures the words "SHOW THUMBNAILS" will appear over the blue boxes or "SHOW AS LIST" will appear over the thin lines. Click the blue boxes and see if the thumbnails appear.
If this works then you can go to the books and possibly see the book covers. Hope this helps.

Any time. I'm probably less adept at using the Texts collection than garthus1, stbalbach or you, but I'll help if I can. 18:56:00 edit: and brother B(NRToast), of course
