Hey All--

regarding: https://archive.org/details/jj2016-12-03.fob-schoeps.vgrm359.flac16

Tried everything I could think of to get rid of the extra tracks in the streaming box on this show I uploaded recently & nothing seems to work. They just keep hanging around & I've never seen this before so not sure what is wrong. There should only be 15 tracks (the ones with the names of the tunes) & there are 30 (a generically labeled one following each proper one - i.e.Each song is duplicated in the streaming box...one is named & then is followed by the generic labeling of the same track. 2 tracks at 01:24, then 2 at 08:09, then 2 at 09:14 & so on, etc.

Any ideas how to make the doubled tracks go away?? Thanks so much.

Looks fine in Chrome (see attached) but is doubled in Firefox.

I'll fix it shortly.

Looks like whatever you did remedied it.

So thank you so much!!

Molto Grazie, signore!!

Strange as I am also viewing it in Chrome all this time, but if you can fix it, that is fantastic. If you cannot, let me know & I will just start from jump again.

Should be okay now. It is still re-deriving, but it isn't showing double tracks here in Firefox or Chrome and both mp3 and ogg files have been created for some tracks.

To fix it, I deleted all the mp3 and ogg files, selected to allow it to allow derivatives and forced a re-derive. For some reason, the system was seeing all the files (not just the FLACs) as "original" and displaying them in the player.

Be well, Bill.

Yeah, I think something went a little nutty the day I uploaded it...that was Scott Bernstein's theory as well. But all good now, so:

"thank you, thank you, thank you,
you're far too kind,
hold your applause,
this is your song--not mine!!"

it's because you uploaded both mp3 and ogg files as original source files. since the player likes both formats it will display both. all original files with formats that work in the player will be in the playlist. not so with derivative files but you blocked them and uploaded originals in the typically derivative formats.

I swear I did not. Just FLACs...that's all I've ever uploaded. Something went a little haywire or misread on this one.

Did you upload your own mp3 and ogg files? The show is set to not allow derivatives but the file list shows both mp3 and ogg files as "original" and not derivatives from the FLAC files.

I did not. But the system may be confused because I did select to not allow derivatives after this started & then re-derive & then allow derivatives & then re-derive a couple times over the past few weeks. Never uploaded my own mp3s nor OGG files, though.
