In the comments to 'It's Alive" from https://archive.org/details/ItsAlive Cosmicola writes that it was produced from a discarded AIP screenplay by Richard Matheson. Vonnoosh writes that it was to star Peter Lorre.

Hope that helps.

Personally, I haven't seen it nor am I going to sit through another Larry Buchanan film.
