Re: No Lead-In |
I'm afraid I have to agree. It's quite easy to cue up a record properly to share. Pausing it at the first hint of music, then reversing the disc a half turn. I've noticed this many times here myself. Its a sloppy waste, and undermines the value of an otherwise great resource.
Thanks,
RonO

Re: No Lead-In |
Well, in this case, it's a little more difficult. They use a four-armed turntable, and I'm sure it's a challenge to get them all properly configured. 78's aren't noted for a long lead-in area as it is. But it's possibly a new, inexperienced person running the machine, and it takes time to get used to the quirks.
I did get a response from a direct email, and they're now aware of the problem. I'm sure it will get better in future runs. I was also able to edit different rips together of all the bad ones for my own use, but if you just stream from the collection, it's a tougher listen.
