DRUGS ARE LIKE THAT mpeg-2 file problem |
OK, this file is at least in a DVD-compatible resolution, but it was either improperly encoded, or improperly converted from a file with a different resolution, because it plays extremely jerkily. Compare it with the mpeg-1 file, which, though not nearly as sharp as the mpeg-2 file, plays perfectly smoothly. Are all the files in the A/V Geeks section like that? Perhaps I'll just have to content myself with the lower-rez VCD-compatible files; I can put up with more pixellation easier than herky-jerky motion.
I know it seems like I complain a lot, but...well, this giant archive is conceptually an excellent and welcome idea and resource; it's just a pity that it seems to have been unnecessarily compromised in many places by faulty digitization. Kind of like a library with tons of books you know you'd love to read, but every other sentence is printed too small for you to make out.

Re: DRUGS ARE LIKE THAT mpeg-2 file problem |
You're right, the problem is with my software player. I changed mpeg-2 plugins, and it plays smoothly now. Sorry about my rant there. :) Unfortunately, the problem with the Prelinger files still remains... :( Hopefully someday Mr. Prelinger will release DVD-R collections of his stuff, properly digitized, like you do. Then I'd be very, very happy. If only I could get a nice DVD copy of the all-time anti-classic ONE GOT FAT...
