I am really digging this older Assembly of Dust show this AM.

If you have never listened to these guys this is a good place to start.

I repeat myself, but please, everyone, please give their commercial live release "The Honest Hour" a try (you can buy it very cheaply via Amazon, for one). I really love this record and nothing of theirs that I've heard on the Archive approaches its appeal.

The above should link you to the band's website's player where you can listen fully to all the songs (don't miss the title track, "Honest Hour").

While seeking the above link I came across this "multimedia glance" into the making of the album ; it was AOD at their peak, I think (Adam Terrell plays fine, fine guitar throughout):

Thanks Willco.

Wow, thanks for the link to AOD's live CD! Have to agree with you, as good as some of their recordings are here on Archive, this one's the best I've listened to so far.

Highly recommended!!

Good call Jim. AOD's earlier material is very solid. Reid Genauer has one of those instantly recognizable voices and at the risk of sounding all icky man-crushy, I could listen to that guy anytime.

After Alison Krauss of course....

I'm a big fan of AOD, though only via archive; unfortunately I've never seen them live. Suck, too, as they don't seem to be touring much these days. Wonder if that means they've all got day-jobs now (which doesn't bode well for further tours), playing in different bands, or what?

Going to see Alison Krauss Saturday--really looking forward to it!

Watch Letterman at 4:44, funny crack even though he is putting his musical ignorance on display. Dan Tyminski looks to be pretty tolerant though....

They played Brooklyn Bowl sometime in the past year and I'm still kicking myself for not going. I keep checking tour dates because I definitely want to see them live.
