This beta uploader is not user-friendly for visually impaired people using the JAWS screen reader. It's confusing having to click on each field you want to type in, rather than having the fields come up with boxes all ready to edit as in the old uploader.
I suggest you have a new uploader with the browse button on top, then all the
archive.org/editxml
fields right below it (in the easy edit format). I believe this would be a better solution for those of us who are visually impaired, and it would be an improvement over the old uploader as well, as a person could easily add files and add all the metadata at the same time. Currently, I have to go through three processes to upload one patent. I have to (1) create the identifier, (2) add the files, and (3) edit the XML so the title is different from the identifier. This new uploader is unfriendly enough that I'll need to stick with the old method until a more accessible version of the uploader comes along.
Thanks for listening.

we appreciate the feedback. at this time we will be retaining the classic uploader for the foreseeable future. as you observed, that is the better choice for visually impaired users at this time

I agree with the previous post. This is not accessible. You should be able to tab from one field to the next.

I also miss how the page remembers what I typed last. Especially for things like tags and author.

I do like the layout. It's easier to find the fields to edit. Keep up the good work!

7 years and a week later, I think it'd be great to be able to tab between fields in the uploader.
