I have read on some sites ,ebay to be one, That the Beatles cartoons from the 1960's entered the public domain in the 1990's. Is there any truth to that claim? There are some posted on Youtube and they haven't been forced to remove them.

The cartoons themselves may technically be "public domain", but there's no way in stinking hell the Beatles music in them is cleared for free use. Many giant robot ninja lawyers will appear and issue threats if you should try to use the musical segments for free.
