Description : William M. Sucksdorf was born in Germany in 1869. He left for Iowa at the age of 16, and arrived in Whittier in 1910. He bought 10 acres of navel oranges in East Whittier, and built a large home out of redwood. Description : The Jose Maria and Josefa Ramirez family has ties to the Whittier area dating back to 1850. They both came to California from Sonora, Mexico. They were married at the San Gabriel Mission and had 17 children, 2 who died in infancy. One son, Juan Diego Ramirez, married Francisca Zuniga of El Monte. They had 9 children, their third child, a daughter, is Josephine Louise (Ramirez) Arcadi. Another son of Jose Maria and Josefa is Henry Ramirez who married Delfina Gonzales of Rivera....

Description : Blanche (Keen) Seppi came to Whittier with her parents and brother Walter in 1897. They settled on a 10 acre ranch in South Whittier. Their father, Scott Keen, had his own grading business and it is estimated that he graded 85% of the roads in Whittier. Walter Keen also went into the grading business.
