Stony Creek Valley is Pittman-Robertson land. The land was purchased with revenue generated from the sale of sporting firearms and ammunition. Pittman-Robertson, or more formally the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act went from introduction to FDR's signature in just 93 days. Pittman-Robertson had been one of the most effective Federal programs ever created. Until the Clinton administration diverted funds producing congressional hearings and a change in the law.
