This is another cartoon in the Felix style. I remember watching this one on Saturday morning cartoons. It is a shame that people try to shove garbage down our kid's throats like the cartoons are now.

Felix befriends a little boy but the boy's father won't let him keep Felix as a pet. I get the impression that this version of the short ends prematurely as Felix never really gets revenge! It's a silent cartoon from 1922 with added public domain music and sound effects.

Felix has numerous adventures with things that go bump in the night. This 1928 short was acquired by Educational Film Exchange which added primitive sound for the home movie and TV release in the 1950s. This copy has public domain music and sound effects. The music includes "Ghost Dance," an unusual guitar duet by Truett and George from 1927. There is a terrific version of this short available on the "Cartoon Roots" blu-ray from Tom Stathes' Cartoons on Film with original...

Another Felix the Cat silent cartoon with a fairly crude soundtrack added by distributor, Jacques Kopfstein. Candidate Felix promises the cats of earth a better life on Mars. (At least, that's how I decipher the plot!) It's stated on various websites that this cartoon was originally titled "Astromeows," probably a more sensible title, but I've never seen a print with that name. Perhaps that was the title of the silent version which got slightly scrambled when sound was added.

Felix and his nephews/nieces (?) sons/daughters (?) decide to make their own movies. Hilarity (or a mild form of amusement) ensues. The primitive sound in this 1927 cartoon was probably added by Official Films in 1953 when they acquired the home movie and TV rights from Educational Film Exchange.

Felix gets himself kicked across the world to wind up in Japan where he introduces chairs (!) to the populace. This is one of the 15 silent Felixes that had music and sound effects post-synchronized by distributor Jacques Kopfstein for Bijou pictures. This circa 1927 Felix the Cat cartoon was created as an advertisement for Edison Mazda Headlamps! It's actually a pretty good cartoon about Felix's troubles trying to marry his sweetheart. My guess at the year is based on something in the cartoon itself. A salesman checks a lists of parts for Felix's car. It turns out Felix is driving a '27 "Noiseless Six." This copy has public domain music and sound effects added.

This Felix the Cat cartoon doesn't have much of a plot but rather is a series of random adventures starring our hero and a fox. It's a silent cartoon that had crude sound added after the fact by distributor Jacques Kopfstein. This cartoon looks to have been made earlier than 1929. It's no wonder that Disney and Fleischer made serious inroads into Felix's popularity.

" Skulls and Sculls" is a 1929 Felix the Cat cartoon, directed by Otto Messmer, produced by Pat Sullivan and distributed by Copley Pictures Corporation. The cartoon begins much like the Fleischer cartoon, "Bimbo's Initiation," with Felix being pursued by supernatural beings (the "skulls" of the title). The second half involves a college boat race (the "sculls" of the title). The post-production sound was added by Jacques Kopfstein for Copley Pictures.
