This 1960s color film produced by Ray Jewell and Adam Ooms for the United States Air Force promotes the Military Airlift Command’s Reserve Associate Program, showing how civilians with day jobs might join defense efforts via the piloting program. Designed to drive enlistment, this propaganda film emphasizes good eats, vocational training, and sightseeing opportunities over the risks and consequences of military action during the Vietnam War era (TRT: 23:13). Model remix from alexlahote1's T-6 Texan II. Added USAF logos and NAS Pensacola (UCT) tail flash (built in Tinkercad). Just like the original, it accepts a ~10.5mm or 3/8” dowel rod. Recommend printing vertically with tree supports touching build plate.

Initialement conçu pour les combats aériens, il est également capable d’assurer des missions de soutien militaire au sol, d’attaque électronique ou encore de renseignement d’origine électromagnétique2. This is my Air Force token(coin), this is my favorite since it has alot of colors. The only thing I painted was the eagle(brown). Used cura with layer height stops for filament changes. Token is 2.200" round and is .230 thick. Depends on your printer you might have to sand the shield and inner token to get a nice press fit because of elephants foot when printing. Made inner part and shield -.015 smaller, hoping for easy fit. Let me know what you think and check out my other military tokens.

Made during WWII to train ground personnel, this film shows the proper way to prepare cargo for air transport, and how to load a transport aircraft. It also shows the role of the Air Transportation Officer in confirming that aircraft are loaded properly. The planes shown are the Curtiss C-46 Commando, and Douglas C-47 Skytrain and C-53 Skytrooper transports. (A C-53 is simply a DC-3 that was specifically designed for military service. Unlike the C-47 it does not have big cargo doors, a...

Reductive dechlorination catalyzed by organohalide-respiring bacteria is often considered for remediation of non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) source zones due to cost savings, ease of implementation, regulatory acceptance, and sustainability. Despite knowledge of the key dechlorinators, an understanding of the processes and factors that control NAPL dissolution rates and detoxification (i.e., ethene formation) is lacking.

This is a rare U.S. Air Force promotional film for Boeing Vertol's 107 helicopter, that initially uses a New York Airways liveried chopper for the demonstration. The 107 was the commercial version of the CH-46 Sea Knight. This is a medium-lift tandem rotor transport helicopter powered by twin turboshaft aircraft engines. It was used by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) to provide all-weather, day-or-night assault transport of combat troops, supplies and equipment until it was replaced by...

This astonishing film (sadly, incomplete) shows portions of the Douglas World Flight. This was the first aerial circumnavigation of the world, which was conducted in 1924 by a team of aviators of the United States Army Air Service, the precursor of the United States Air Force. The trip took 175 days, covering over 27,553 miles (44,342 km). Four aircraft, Seattle, Chicago, Boston, and New Orleans, left Santa Monica, California, on 4 April 1924, for Sand Point, Washington, near Seattle,...

Project Blue Book was one of a series of systematic studies of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) conducted by the United States Air Force. It started in 1952, and it was the third study of its kind (the first two were projects Sign (1947) and Grudge (1949)). A termination order was given for the study in December 1969, and all activity under its auspices ceased in January 1970. Project Blue Book's goals were t o determine if UFOs were a threat to national security, and to scientifically...

Stanley Milgrams explanation of the Holocaust in terms of the mechanism of obedience is too narrow. While obedience was one mechanism which contributed to the outcome, the murder of Jews and others was the work of people from a broad swath of German society, from economists who planned mass starvation to ordinary soldiers in the Wehrmacht, often acting without duress or apparent pressures to conform.

This work has constructed a model for the theoretical analysis of generalized magneto-optical transmission (GMOT) filters for any relative angle between the light beam and the applied magnetic field. Thucydides noted in his history of the Peloponnesian Wars that one of the primary motivators of Athenian foreign policy was -niterests.1 This remains as true in the 21st century as in ancient Greece. As a result modern policymakers would all agree that the national strategy of any country must be consistent with national interests and built on three variables. First, what are the ends of strategy or the goals the nation is trying to accomplish alone or in concert with friends and allies?...

The effect of O3 on C2H4/synthetic-air flame propagation at sub-atmospheric pressure was investigated through detailed experiments and simulations. A Hencken burner provided an ideal platform to interrogate flame speed enhancement, producing a steady, laminar, nearly one-dimensional, minimally curved, weakly stretched, and nearly adiabatic flame that could be accurately compared with simulations. The experimental results showed enhancement of up to 7.5% in flame speed for 11 000ppm of O3 at...

After the industrial revolution, science leadership has been associated with increased national capability through superior commercial and military technology. With the rising importance of soft power and transnational bargaining, when America's hard power cannot be deployed everywhere at once, maintaining leadership in basic science as the quest to know Nature may be key to curbing legitimate resistance and sustaining America's influence in the international system. An apparent paradox is emerging in nuclear proliferation. On one hand, the technical barriers to entry into the nuclear club have been progressively eroded; yet the drive to obtain nuclear weapons has been declining. This trend confounds the commonly accepted systemic explanation for nuclear proliferation. The anomaly of fewer potential proliferators despite reduced technical barriers suggests that decisions about acquiring nuclear weapons may now be influenced by a different calculus. To...

To understand the manpower challenges facing the Department of Defense (DOD) as it unveils its latest QDR, it is first necessary to lay out the principles on which the All Volunteer Force (AVF) was created in 1973. The Air Force has a cohesion problem, and it is firmly rooted in the Air Force culture, subcultures, and organizational dynamics within the diverse, complex entity that is today's USAF. By the late 1980s, the Air Force essence was centered on technology, with splits between pilots and all others, among pilots based on the type of aircraft flown, and with space beginning to assert its claim on a piece of the core. This study surveyed USAF officers to find more detailed answers to questions about...
