This is a chess set that I designed along with my dovetail chess board (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3663144). The base of each piece has a 20mm radius so it fits nicely on the dovetail board which has a 25mm length square. the pieces are mostly fairly standard pieces, however i designed them all from scratch and they all have a slight fun twist about them. #**TL;DR:** This is a chess set scanned from a set my grandfather found at an auction, which was a commercial cast (allegedly) from an actual jade chess set. I made this design back in 2012. The four base pieces assemble to form a storage unit for all of the pieces. These are a press fit. The board also comes in four pieces that assemble for a full chess board. This design is good for people that have limited printing envelopes.

Just a simple Chess Set I created a while back when I had a couple free hours. No supports are needed for this design. I started with the Pawn and came up with the style of base and stem I wanted. I used that template to build the other pieces by changing the look of the stem and head for each piece. Embedded magnets, 5x1mm + tolerance. If using Cura at 0.2mm layer height you'd need to pause on layer number 11. If there's nothing magnetic in the extruder gantry you *might* get away with not gluing the magnet down but I wouldn't chance it. A small drop of glue should be enough, test with something magnetic that it's actually stuck before unpausing the print, and be careful about the orientation of the magnets of course. Recommended to have a extra dummy body (just a cylinder or whatever)...

This is a set of garden chess pieces for board 160x160cm (one tile 20x20cm). The pieces are modeled after an old chess set being sold in 80's in Czech Republic under name "Šachová Hra Česká Klubovka IV/2" and manufactured by "Dřevozpracující závody Frýdlant v Čechách". All the pieces are scaled up 3.33333333333333 times. These models were primarily designed for wood turning, so they are not optimized for 3d printing.

I custom designed these pieces to print without supports. They have a large cavity on the bottom for weights and a thick enough rim to stick on felt. These are sized for a tournament sized chess board and come out very clean when printed.

A small box with a chess board on top that can fit miniature chess pieces inside. The top halves of the board must be rotated 180 degrees to fit into the holes, then rotated 180 degrees back. The chess pieces are scaled to fit the board. It is so small that I need to use tweezers to play!

My printer refused to print the knight piece in this awesome chess set so I had to square off the bottom of the top mouth piece. It doesnt look much different in my opinion.
