t is my great privilege to recognize and congratulate the members of the Class of 2013 for all you have
accomplished during your undergraduate years. There is no doubt that 13 is a special number, for the Class of
2013 has been an exceptional group, distinguishing itself through hard work, achievement, and camaraderie.
You will long be remembered and appreciated in the halls of Tech.
These past four years have been a time of dramatic growth for both you and WPI, and we appreciate your
contributions to making the Institute a very special place. We were pleased to open the much needed new Sports
and Recreation Center during your senior year, and the opening of East Hall was another important
accomplishment that marked your era. East Hall is not only a first-class residence facility that many of you were
able to enjoy as upperclassmen, but it is a testament to our community's commitment to sustainable development,
which also grew tremendously during your time here.
You saw the rise in prominence of new interdisciplinary programs, such as robotics engineering, interactive
media and game development, and environmental engineering. Your hard work and accomplishments provided
the impetus for new project centers in Morocco, Nantucket, and Santa Fe. And you led the celebration of the
arts with your spellbinding theatrical performances and your majestic music making.
But equally important, you made significant contributions to WPTs strong tradition of community. Yes, you
excelled academically, as we knew you would, but you also demonstrated an impressive commitment to your
fellow students, your distinguished teachers, and WPTs hard working staff.
Now, as you cross the bridge to your future, mindful of your many contributions to affirming WPTs important
place in the world, and of your graceful leadership and service to your alma mater, we express our gratitude and
good wishes. We know that you will shape your life with purpose, meaning, and value, and we look forward to
welcoming you back to campus often as active, engaged members of the WPI family.
With best wishes.
Yours sincerely.

his yearbook contains some of the most wonderful memories we have shared at WPI. As they say, one
image is worth more than 1,000 words, and I truly believe this yearbook can attest to that. Many years from
now, most of us will come back and laugh at the way we looked in college, just as we do now with the way we
looked in high school. The yearbook will carry memories to attest your presence on this campus, your alma
mater, where you shared so many laughter, tears, triumphs and defeats. We have succeeded in leaving a mark
on this campus and now we embark on the journey of our life project. One that is built on the rigorous process
of the WPI project based curriculum.
Many of us will remember the complexity of the Great Problem Seminar our freshman year, followed by the
completion of a practicum or seminar in the humanities and arts. We then challenged ourselves by embracing
social issues in our IQPs, and finished our experiences within our majors from which we hope to build a career
on with the MQPs. You will notice none of those are recorded in this yearbook, because our life at WPI
encompassed many other projects outside of the classroom. How about that house you help build with Habitat
for Humanity? The arduous practices to set a new Personal Record? Creating a chant or discovering a talent
for Greek Week or raising money for your Relay for Life team?
Every goal and every dream we have can become a project, and now we embark in the most important one we
will ever have—our life projects. Through our journey at WPI we have learned about team work, collaboration,
being challenged and becoming innovative. Sometimes our teams were the most incredible group of people we
had worked with, others, not quite the standard we want, but we learn how to get through them. It is time to
apply those experiences in our own lives and create a project with lifelong partners, caring and loving sponsors,
and a goal we can be proud of achieving in our own lifetime. When we surround ourselves with amazing people,
every challenge seems to be easier and every goal seems to be reachable.
President Lincoln once said, "in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." Class
of 2013,1 challenge you to take your WPI project-based education and translate it to your next project, your life
project. Be the authors of your own project and write it with ink from the heart. We are empowered to control
our future and apply the knowledge and values we have learned at WPI to make of our life projects the most
amazing journey it could ever be. One day, I hope you come back to this yearbook to rejoice of the past, to
lighten your present and to inspire your future.
Congratulations,
Jean PauTMiralda
SGA President

I'd like to give you the gift of success,
but that's something
that only has true value
if it is earned.
rd like to give you the gift of the \A/isdom,
but that's something
only the passing years can bring.
I'd like to give you the gift of happiness,
but the path that leads you there
is one you must find on your own.
But there is one gift
that I can give you today
that will always be with you
and that's my love.
Love,

Life is an opportunity; make the most of it;
Listen to your heart and take risks carefully;
Face challenges with confidence;
Choose your battles wisely;
Laugh and dance;
And remember how much you are loved.
You have grown into a very special young woman, we could not be
prouder.
Love Mom and Dad
Congratulations Mik-Job well done and we are very proud of you!!!
Mik please remember tlie following quotes from the Bible-
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in
all you ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight.
Blessed is the man who finds wisdom and gains understanding. For the Lord
gives wisdom and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One
is understanding.
Honor the Lord and let love and faithfulness never leave you.
Discretion will protect you and understanding will guard you.
Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed."
God loves you and mom, dad & Michelle love you.
