THE LAPLAND SOLID OAK REFRIGERATORS.
Antique Finish. Removable Ice Chambers. Mineral Wool Filling^.
Charcoal Sheathing. Lined with Galvanized Iron. Adjustable
Sliding Shelves. Removable Waste Pipes and Parti-
tion. Extension Spring Door Hinges.
Genuine Bronze Trimmings.
Why the Lapland is Far Superior to all Others:
It is not the ordinary so-called "hardwood " box, but kiln dried, solid oak, with
hand carved ornaments, and is highly polished.
The space between the inner and outer case is filled with mineral wool, kept in
position by means of horizontal strips and covered with charcoal sheathing'.
The mineral wool is placed in sma.ll compartments so that it cannot settle to the
bottom of the refrigerator, leaving the ice chamber unprotected.
Charcoal sheathing is used to keep it in place and to divide it from a dead air
space between the outer wall and the charcoal sheathing.
This combines the three most satisfactory insulators that have ever been dis-
covered. Any one of them might answer in most cases, but using all three
makes a certainty of it.
The ice chamber, waste pipe and shelves are removable, and when taken
out, leave the entire inner part of the box free for cleaning.
It is fitted with a perfect spring trap drip cup of ample size, and can be opened
from the front.
It is equipped with extension spring hinges, which close the doors automatically.
All are furnished with locks and keys.

MARSHALL FIELD & CO.,
FOLDING RUBBER CLOTH BATH TUB.
The frame is of hardwood, rock elm, nicely finished with filler and var-
nished, fitted with patent metal joints by means of which it folds easily and
compactly. The frame thus constructed stands firmly on the floor and is kept
in the same position no matter how much weight the tub contains.
The cover of this tub consists of very heavy closely woven duck, which is
coated with thoroughly refined, vulcanized rubber, cured and thus rendered
tough and pliable. We guarantee it not to crack. It is composed of a single
piece in which there are no cuts or seams. As the duck is thoroughly coated
with pure rubber, it has a perfectly smooth surface and is as easily cleaned as
a porcelain tub. It is uninjured by soap, salt, sulphur or medicated waters.
It is not necessary to dip the water out to empty the tub, simply take hold of
the rails and lift up one end, when the other end forms a trough and the water
can be easily poured into a pail without spilling a drop.
It is not suspended, but rests on the floor about one foot in width the
entire length of the tub. At the top it is about 5 feet long by 27 inches wide
and is 16 inches deep; these are about the dimensions of the modern metallic
tub.

COLUMBIA WASHING MACHINE.
THE IMPROVED COLUMBIA WASHER.
A washer that will stand every test, and so constructed that a child can operate it. The
improved pin-head, which is made of malleable iron, and the post, which is turned out of
wrought iron and firmly secured together, and all heavily galvanized, will last a lifetime; while
with other machines of similar make they are made of wood and are the first parts to give way.
The post on the Columbia Washer does not protrude underneath pin-head to entangle the clothes,
and cause rents in worn places. A few pieces can be washed at a time, when desired, as well as
a tubful, as the weight of metal pin-head and post adjusts itself to amount of clothes in machine,
having a coil spring on upper part of post to give pressure according to the amount of clothes,
while with other machines the wooden head floats on top of the water, so that a few pieces can-
not be washed successfully.
A small anti-friction wheel is used to hold cogs in mesh, which saves much strength in
operating, as it does away with all friction.
Castings throughout are very strong and any part will be replaced, free of cost, if broken in
ordinary use.
